Welcome
Coming down off of Manastash Ridge into the Yakima Valley the Lights glitter out of the n dotting the blackness below me like stars. I flick the Jake Brakes and feel the engine Exhaust brakes purr slowing me down to 62 without touching the foot pedals. I flick a switch and my window air driven hisses open. I stick my arm into the night. The Icy wind runs up my arm and across my face tossing papers around the dash I take a deep invigorating breath of the cold high desert air. I am flying a starship. Far off on the far side of the Valley I watch a shooting star plunge behind the distant hills. Beautiful, I am no Starship Pilot only a trucker. It doesn't matter I am happy. I make good money by most peoples standards, I have job security, I have medical Benifits and a 401k retirement, all of these things are pretty standard in the trucking industry. Even if I was to decide I wanted to take a break from trucking I would still have my CDL to fall back on if I need to. If you are a young person looking to start a career or an older person looking for a new adventure then Go for It!! you really cant go wrong. Its not like you are taking a major risk here. I meet people from all walks of life out here on the road. House wives, ex-cons, ex-soldiers (lots of retired military out here.) I have even met a Medical doctor that got tired of the high insurance premiums. I once met a Bonified Rocket Scientist The passenger side of his truck loaded with All Kinds of Computer Gear. "he said he got tired of dealing with people" go figure. I am going to be putting all kinds of information on this site that may be of interest to people interested in Trucking or Truckers just looking for new perspective. Anyway if you have any comments or questions feel free to contact me.mailto:[email protected] Hope to see you out here on the road!! Be Safe, Highway
