. As Professional Drivers we often drive120,000 miles per year or more. That means we have a lot more opportunities to be pulled over by law enforcement than your average Joe! On top of that with state and local governments needing revenue it seems the fines keep getting steeper and steeper. If you get a ticket protect your CDL and take the time to get an attorney. I have listed the names of several that I have used over the years in the "information for truckers" forum. If you know of any good attorneys (or bad) then please sign up for the forum and share the information with your fellow drivers "inquiring minds would love to know" highwaym.

Seems like no Matter how hard I work and how much money I make I can never save up much of a nest egg. I blogged earlier about how I figured out how to outsmart my Gambling Habbit /blogfinding-ways-to-improve-on-an-amazing-life.html see ("why I like my sears card") Well that helped a lot but although I stopped myself from going deeper into debt from Gambling I still could never seem to get ahead. Then I found out about the 401K program the company I work for has. How it works is I put in a percentage of my paycheck and they match it with a percentage of their own. Its not a lot I think it averages out to a couple hundred bux, per month but it is "Free Money" and believe me it adds up over time. I put 15% off the top of each check into my 401K. The Beauty of this is that It comes "Off The Top" before they take out taxes so it lowers my tax bracket also. I really dont miss the money and for the first time in my life I actually have a Respectable Nest-Egg. highwaym |
